i think i have this problem where i get too excited about getting to take a nap so that by the time i hurry and finish something or hurry back to my room, i'm too worked up to actually fall asleep.

i also have this problem where i'm addicted to reading my bio book.

in other news, it's fall break! my last class just ended about an hour ago. this fall break will be spent working on my paper from summer, hopefully going to the mall finally (lisa and i have been trying to go for about a month now), and skydiving! our reservations have been set for monday O_O so excited and so scared and actually it feels kind of surreal right now cause i just found out the plans are set.

i think that's all. i think i'll take a nap now...if i can stay sufficiently nonchalant about it.

a little while ago ago i walked into the bathroom and saw jane finishing up her dishes. a few secs later i heard her trying to open the door and then, "wendy, i can't open the door" and thought, oh prob cause she's holding her dishes. however, i soon found out this was not the case. the door is broken or something and the doorknob won't turn from the inside. so yep jane and i were locked in the kilgo I 2nd floor bathroom. for the first few minutes we just stared in disbelief, both at each other and at the door. then we started knocking on the door hoping someone would hear us. we kept hearing ppl go by the stairs. finally someone heard us, but she lost her bathroom key so she had to go find someone else to open the door for us. i think we were stuck in there for about 10 min.

in other news, it's our room! so yeah this year has been really busy so far, and i'm pretty sure it will get even worse. i'm taking organic chem, genetics/molecular bio, chinese, and an art hist class. i also got a work study job in a lab yay. i'm pretty excited except it's 7 hrs/week so...i'll really have to manage my time well. this year has been good though, despite the busyness. i'm living on west campus now (as opposed to east, which is the freshman part of campus) and it's sooo convenient and much nicer/prettier. plus our rooms are bigger and i'm living around a lot of cool ppl. meeting/getting to know freshmen has been fun too. if you asked me this time last year, i would have seriously doubted i'd ever be saying this but, i'm really glad to be here.

i hope all you guys still in houston are doing ok. i saw some pics online of ike's damage and it does not look pretty. i know clake evac-ed though so that's good. i don't know how flooded clake is though. i wonder if clhs is flooded...i remember we had a bad drainage system. anyways, let me know how things pan out. i heard there's no power or water for 2 weeks.

today the temperature was in the 50s here in denver. it's soo weird. it feels like december in houston but it's only august. i had to turn on the heat in my car and i was freezing during my nap. for lunch i made kimchi soup! and it was reallly good lol i want some more. it was perfect for this august winter day. i didn't have any tofu though. next time i will add some silky tofu.

so up until this week i've been a pretty big bum here in denver. in my 2-week state of extreme bummage i've managed to watch all 3 seasons of how i met your mother, the first and only season of clone high, all the batman movies since 1989, and a few other movies. the 3 seasons of arrested development is taking forever to dl. it's been 3 or 4 days now. this week i started being more productive. i went to the library! it was very exciting.

the olympics have been pretty awesome. everyone's been so hyped up about it. my physical therapist and i talk about it every time lol. nbc sucks though. their bias is really blatantly obvious, and their exploration of chinese culture has been tinged with mockery. men's beach volleyball is on right now. they're making laciga on the swiss team sound like the biggest, most arrogant jerk in the world, and they actually made a generalization to all europeans, saying they all blame their partners for mistakes.

this post will most likely be some very random rambling.

i noticed that all the street names here either have "W" or "S" before them. kind of annoying but i guess it's a good way to keep track of which direction the streets go. but why west and south and not east and north? also, google maps needs to update their street view.

today i had an eye dr appointment at 11:30am and a dentist at 2pm. yesterday i called to move the dentist appointment to a later date cause i have a terrible mouth sore because of too much yit hei (hot air) and from it being so dry here, esp compared to houston haha. anyways, i got the two appointment times mixed up so i showed up at my eye dr's at 2pm and told them i had an appointment. they were like "oh...we had you down for 11:30am today..." owned. but they fit me in, which was pretty cool. apparently i have really severe eye allergies--nothing i didn't already know. i had been telling my eye dr's about that for the past 3 years. i have to wear my glasses for a week and use 2 diff kinds of drops. fun.

i bought some red flats today. i have a shoe addiction problem.

also, today i fixed a somewhat major and complicated problem on my computer! allll by myself! it was a very proud moment for me. the problem was whenever i right clicked files or folders, it would take forever for the context menu to show up. actually, most of the time, my comp would just freeze for a minute or two and then the menu wouldn't even show up at all. it took me maybe 2 hours, not including all the time spent with ad-aware scan, norton scan, spyware scan, disk cleanup, defrag, and attempted system restore.

woot-offs are fun.

russell peters is coming to duke in september. allen, too bad you don't go to duke, cause it's sept 5. fun way to celebrate 20th bday weekend huh.

i think there was more i was going to ramble about, but my tummy hurts, as it has for the past 8 months. so i'm going to go to sleep. i'm seeing a dr about my tummy again tomorrow morning--another reason to sleep. also, i'm hungry, as always. sighsigh. my tummy is so annoying. yesterday all day i didn't feel hungry at all, but i still ate. then around midnight BAM out of nowhere i get some insane hunger pangs. i will get so fat from eating late at night. oh yeah you will all be happy to know i finally scheduled a physical therapy appointment. lol my body is a whole slew of problems these days.
